Introducing the Sterile Cervical Caspar Pins

Synertech’s single use Sterile Cervical Caspar Pins are always available and ready to go.

Sterile Cervical Caspar Pins

Cervical surgery often requires distraction of the vertebrae to gain access to the disc space. A gold standard method is the use of Caspar pins and a distractor.

These pins anchor into the vertebra while a linear ratchet is able to distract open the disc space. This provides the space to perform discectomies or temporarily restoring disc height. Synertech Caspar Cervical Pins are provided in 3 sizes 12,14 & 16mm and come pre-packed sterile in pairs.

The Caspar Cervical Pins are distributed in boxes which contain 10 sterile individual packs conformed by two units. These are the 3 lengths of Caspar Pins:

·   Sterile pair of 12mm pins

·   Sterile pair of 14mm pins

·   Sterile pair of 16mm pins

Why single-use, sterile instruments?

There are a number of generic benefits that single use instruments bring:

·         Cost effective: no costs of sterilization, reprocessing, repairs or replacements

·         Time saving: no counting and checking instruments, assembly in certain cases, lost instruments, ripped trays

·         No chance of cross contamination: reusable instruments have the potential to transmit prions, bioburden, and infection if not properly cleaned

·         Reduction in energy costs for transportation and reprocessing

·         Overall Risk reduction: Reduce the risk of SSI’s, future hospital costs and litigation
